Following on from an Etsy sale of one of my ‘Love Actually’ cards which went to the USA, the gentleman who purchased the card has now commissioned me to paint a portrait of his girlfriend and her Westie dog.
This is to be done from numerous photographs, including a specific background that the gentleman has requested, on a 12×9″ box canvas in landscape format. It’s going to be a lot more challenging and time-consuming than a standard portrait, which is usually painted from just one image, but I relish the task and am really looking forward to creating a beautiful painting from all the images received:
06/11/17: This rough 15 minute sketch of my idea for a composition was sent to the client, which he approved. The idea is to create the impression that Alicia is standing on the patio deck holding Tugger in a caring fashion…
07/11/17: 1hr30 into start of the piece, rough background work…
11/11/17: 8hrs…

14/11/17: 10hrs30…

29/11/17: Completed after roughly 16hrs overall, following a few amendments requested by the client…
