2015 begins with “Don Pietro”…

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

From the absolutely brilliant Italian mafia series “Gomorrah” that my brother introduced me to recently, I can’t wait to start this piece of boss of the family, Don Pietro Savastano. I have chosen this image from Pietro in jail because there was one scene where he incites a riot and subsequently stops it dead with… Read more »

Last one of 2014…”No More Shines”…

With this one, I painted the background first before deciding on what to paint! I just had an urge to do something in colour. The image that jumped out at me was Frank Vincent as “Billy Bats” in ‘Goodfellas’, just about to get into an argument with Tommy before getting “whacked”! (08/12/2014)random greens and blues… Read more »

I’ve got one more episode to watch in the very final series of The Sopranos so it’s fitting that i do a painting featuring my favourite character from the series, “Paulie ‘walnuts’ Gualtieri”, seen here with high ranking family member Silvio Dante (love his expressions!)… (03/09/14) 1hr30 done on basic shaping and base colours… (04/09/14)… Read more »

Back to black, with “John Doe”…

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

I caught the last hour of the film “Se7en” the other week and Kevin Spacey’s performance as “John Doe” the serial killer, to me, rates as one of his best roles. This scene I have chosen is where Spacey is in the back of a police car after voluntarily offering to take the police directly… Read more »

“Senna” commissioned piece…

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

I’m doing this piece on 16″x12″ canvas paper, not the box canvas as normal, as I’m going to get it framed/glazed once it’s finished (it’s for a friend to give as a gift so framed would be better)… (10/07/14) No sketch, just paint straight on. 1hr20 later… (14/07/14) 2hrs15… (16/07/14) 4hrs45… (19/07/14) All done after… Read more »

Colour piece “Wolf and the Pussy cat”

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

Having received a set of colour acrylic paints from my brother and his missus for my recent birthday, I am compelled to take the plunge and start creating brighter, more colour-filled pieces. The first piece I shall be experimenting with is a scene from “The Wolf Of Wall Street” film, which I finally got round… Read more »

Inspired by the loss of my dear old nan…

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

The next piece I am going to work on is inspired by my 94 year old nan, who died suddenly last Sunday. Even though she was a ripe old age, I think we are all still in shock as a family. My nan was the head of our family, and ‘family’ is what she was… Read more »

It all began exactly one year ago…

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

So i finished my latest painting, “The Tactician and The Magician”, exactly a year to the the day that I started and completed my very first painting, “The Trader”, back on April 18th 2013. What a productive year! Looking back, I am extremely happy at most of the end results and I think that first… Read more »
