  • ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? - I finally got round to painting my favourite film of all time, 'Gladiator', although this interpretation of 'Maximus' (Russell Crowe) is only on a small 12x9" box canvas.   • DOGUE ONE - this was a step away from my usual portraiture, painted from my own photograph of a kennel at the Merseyside Dogs Home.   • AMY WINE-BAR - this was a really difficult, yet interesting commission, to paint a "lighthearted" Amy Winehouse piece inspired by a few photos and a cartoon-like painting of her hanging up in a wine bar in Liverpool.   • CHILL WINSTON - after the result of the EU Referendum and with everybody going crazy over politics, I decided to paint a politician - none other than Winston Churchill, giving his famous 'V for Victory' salute after WWII but my interpretation is more of a plea for peace in these uncertain times ahead for Britain.   • PAWCELAIN - after reading Moby's biography "Porcelain", i started to paint the cover photo. Then creativity took over and I was inspired by the events regarding the opposition to the sickening Yulin dog-meat festival taking place. This painting was the result!   • THE SURVIVOR - I personally took the photos here and worked from two to create this piece, adding that imfamous sign over the gate (from the Auschwitz concentration camp) for the purpose of highlighting the mass euthanasia that takes place daily within rescue centres, due to the irresponsibilty of many (ex)dog owners and breeders alike.
